Good Components Of A Facial For Those With Wrinkles

If you have wrinkles, then you probably find yourself wishing your skin was smoother, tauter, and younger-looking. Treatments like dermal fillers and botox injections can help, but so can less invasive treatments — like those you may get during a facial. So, what components should you look for in a facial designed to reduce wrinkles? Here are a few key ones.

Hydrating Masks

Hydrating your skin won't make your wrinkles disappear, but it can make them less obvious for a time. Adding moisture to the skin adds volume to the skin, and skin that's voluminous tends to look less wrinkled. If you see a facial that includes a hydrating mask, this is a good one to choose for wrinkle reduction. A hydrating mask is also really soothing and relaxing, and it should not cause any post-facial redness or irritation like some of the other treatments on this list may.

Chemical Peels

If you want more extreme wrinkle relief, then you may want to look for a facial that includes a chemical peel. In a chemical peel, your practitioner will apply an acidic solution to your skin and leave it in place for a time. The chemicals will cause the outer layer of your skin to abrade away, revealing the tighter, more toned skin beneath.

Chemical peels do cause some redness and soreness for a couple of days afterward. If you want to minimize these effects, ask your practitioner for a "light" chemical peel. You should still get some wrinkle relief, but with less irritation than you'll get from a medium or heavy chemical peel.

Sonic Vibration

Another facial treatment for wrinkles is sonic vibration. Basically, your practitioner will hold a vibrating tool against your face, moving it around over your skin. The vibrations will encourage your skin to tighten up, making you look more toned and less wrinkly for days afterward.

Some people think sonic vibration feels strange, while others find the sensation enjoyable. However, it is not painful or invasive. You may have a little mild skin irritation from the pressure of the vibrating tool, but nothing too severe. The one downfall to sonic vibration is that the effects do not last as long as those of, say, a chemical peel.

There are plenty of facial elements that can help ease wrinkles. If you're feeling wrinkly and you're due for a facial treatment soon, look for treatment with some of the elements above.
